4. Oven
Cleaning your oven should not be done on a weekly basis unless you cooked something that, well, got a little messy during the baking process. Some new models of ovens are equipped with a self-cleaning steam function that can be used instead of scratching dirt by hand. However, you won’t want to do that very often because it has been proven that the fumes released during the process can affect your health.
Apparently they can linger for more than an hour after the cleaning, and if you’re planning on baking something right after that, that can spoil your food. Furthermore, overusing a function can potentially lower the performance of an appliance’s critical components. Instead of overcleaning it, wipe up spills as soon as they happen. This way, you can clean your oven properly three or four times a year!
