Don’t set up a tree in your stand before making a fresh cut
Before you start trimming the tree, don’t forget to literally trim it. Trees work just like flowers. Before you arrange flowers in a vase, you have the cut the flower’s stems. Well, trees soak up water best if you remove about a half-inch disk of wood from the stem first.
If you don’t have the necessary equipment, and in order to avoid harming yourself, you can ask the tree farm if they can trim the tree for you. It’s important to do this because otherwise there’s a possibility it won’t receive the necessary amount of water and it will dry out faster.
