Don’t add anything to the Christmas tree water
I don’t care where you’ve read that you should add something to your Christmas tree water. It’s NOT true. Like with any other housekeeping chore, at some point, there were a couple of Old Wives’ Tales circulating about adding sugar or Miracle-Go to the tree water.
In reality, there’s no evidence that these things will actually do any good for preserving your tree’s freshness. To avoid any unpleasant surprise, it’s best if you let plain old water do its job instead.
