Don’t position your tree too close to a heat source, or block an exit

Experts suggest you should keep your tree at least three feet from heat sources. Fireplaces, gas stoves, or radiators are some serious examples of places that should be far away from your tree. Preventing fires should always be a top priority in your home, especially on holidays.

Plus, too much heat can lead to the tree’s dehydration. If you want to keep your tree in the best possible shape, try to keep your home thermostat a bit lower than usual. And while we discuss safety, you should make sure not to put your tree in a doorway or in front of other exit points.
