Don’t let it dry out
As I said, the last thing you want is for your tree to dry out right before jolly St. Nick makes an appearance. Don’t worry about the water, the temperature and source of water don’t make a difference. But frequency and amount do.
You’ll have to check if your tree stand can hold about a quart of water per inch of stem diameter, and that the water level is never lower than the base of the tree. In the first week, it will probably absorb more water, but after that, you can change the water daily. If you think you’ll forget, purchase this big water-retaining base to make sure your tree has enough water.
