While you might think that pollution is something hanging ominously in the air outside, it might surprise you to learn that, according to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the air you breathe in your home can actually be up to 5 times more polluted as the air outside. And if that isn’t a terrifying enough statistic, then you should also consider that on average we spend up to 90% of our time indoors.

So, that’s a lot of time to be exposing yourself to potentially dangerous air pollutants, and while you might think it can’t be all that bad, the American Lung Association would beg to differ as they point out that the more polluted the air in your home, the higher the chances are that it could trigger asthma attacks, heart disease, strokes, and some cause lung cancer. The risks are even higher for children and the elderly.
