Ever since the aerosol spray was invented by U.S. Department of Agriculture scientists to pressurize insect spray in the 1920s, it has gained a less than stellar reputation. It’s not just outside that aerosols do damage, it’s ranked up there with cleaning and personal care products that account for up half of outdoor VOC emissions in cities.
So, if you want to protect yourself at home while simultaneously saving the planet, then perhaps it’s time to stop using aerosols. Thankfully, the market is full of clean air alternatives to aerosol sprays that not only won’t impact the environment but it won’t leave a big hole in your bank balance as well.
