Like the aforementioned aerosols and paint, your everyday cleaning products are full of volatile organic compounds and although you might like that ‘clean’ smell, unfortunately, that smell doesn’t like you very much.
A good example, according to the journal Environmental Science & Technology, is many household cleaners that contain bleach also contain limonene, a common citrus ingredient, and combined they can vastly increase the harmful airborne particles in your home. Thankfully, there are many unscented, natural cleaners out there that will clean your home just as well but do far less damage to you personally.
