4. You don’t sort the laundry

There is no need to tell you that all the light-colored clothes should be washed separately from the dark ones. But besides sorting them by their colors, it’s very important to do that by materials. Some of them can be easily washed at a higher temperature, while others, like blouses or skirts, are part of the delicate ones that usually require special attention or can only be washed by hand.

Always wash linens, towels, and bedding items separate from your clothes. In fact, it’s recommended to wash all your towels at 60 degrees to get rid of the bacteria! Also, don’t forget to change them once a week. The same applies to all the other bedding items.

Another tip that you should definitely keep in mind before doing the laundry is to separate your clothes into lint-emitting and lint-attracting items to avoid having sweater fuzz on your dress or on your jeans. I wish I had known this a couple of years ago! It would have helped me quite a lot to keep intact some of the clothes I ruined by being clumsy.
