Eggshells
There was an old rumor that said eggshells can “sharpen the blades of your garbage disposal, but as you might guess, we’re about to crack that myth. First of all, garbage disposals do not have blades, but they have impellers that are blunt, not sharp.
So, if you thought throwing eggshells down the disposal to sharpen the blades is a good thing to do for your garbage disposal, it’s not. Not only it’s not helpful at all, but the delicate membrane of the eggshells can turn into a sticky substance in combination with water, clinging around the impellers and causing damage.
