Don’t mistake the fruits’ softness with their peels’ harshness, as the peels can easily get stuck in your drain pipes. And like any other fibrous materials, banana peels have no problem destroying your disposal motor and drain.
Moreover, according to Dawson, they can also “develop into a paste that slows down the impellers and creates a serious pipe jam”. And not to be rude, but wouldn’t it be less dangerous and easier to throw the banana peels in the trash?
