As Arizona-based plumber Mark Stevens explain to us, “the problem is that the water and grease cool as [they] move through the pipes and solidify, attracting other debris and creating a blockage”.
In addition to that, fat, unlike other foods you might throw away in the sink, can actually turn rancid and release nasty smells. So if you already have this problem with your pipes, now you might know why.
