6. Not enough greenery
Another bad mistake a lot of people tend to make with their living rooms is that they don’t add enough plants that can give a lively look to the room. Because, guess what? Bringing in plants softens the area and provides a much-needed counterpoint to the furniture’s sharp edges (not to mention that plants can help you clean the air too).
At some point, a famous interior designer had a very interesting speech, and I remember him saying that a house without plants is like an outfit without a simple but chic embellishment. If your space allows it, be bold when adding a plant to your living room! In my case, I bought a big fern and placed it in the corner next to the mirror. It creates a nice effect, and the room definitely looks much better now!
