9. Putting furniture next to walls
It’s common to arrange furniture closer to the outer limits of the living room while organizing a layout. Nevertheless, this is a big mistake because putting your furniture up against the walls won’t make it appear larger; in fact, it will create the effect of a cramped space!
For a less crowded space that looks bigger and prettier, try to put your couch, coffee table, and arm chairs closer to the middle of the room. If you have windows from the ceiling to the floor, take advantage of this by placing the table or the chairs closer to them! I did that, and in my case, because I have an open kitchen with the living room, I moved the kitchen table next to the window, but I was careful to maintain a 17-inch space between the chairs and the window.
Our living rooms should be the coziest rooms in your homes, so their design needs to fit the purpose. Which look fits best in your living room? In case you want to find more inspiration, make sure you also check out Top 7 Paint Colors For Your Kitchen.
