If you sit down and watch any movie from the 1970s, you’ll quickly realize just how pervasive the use of wicker was in that decade. And although we originally associated wicker furniture with relaxing outdoors, it quickly moved into the interior of American homes.
The hippy era embraced the wicker aesthetic as it had a more handmade feel about it, but its durability was always somewhat lacking. Wicker hasn’t really gone away as there appears to be somewhat of a neo-hippie trend happening, but we would prefer it says firmly in the past.
Next, it’s all about 80s excess, florally speaking…..
