Much like with wicker furniture, beaded curtains found themselves as a mainstay of interior design throughout the 60s and 70s. Usually adorning kitchen doors, surrounded by shag carpeting (but were used to separate other rooms), this popular feature was appreciated for being a mix between a closed and open door and one that allows light to filter into both rooms.

However, when it comes down to it, they are impractical, get tangled up easily, and quite frankly, are a little tacky. They did see a slight resurgence in the 1990s, but quickly died the same death they had after their initial popularity in the 60s and 70s.
