5. Swimwear

Most swimwear needs to be cleaned after every use in order to remove the sand, the salt, or the sun lotion, but it’s better to wash them by hand because most of them contain materials like elastic and spandex, which can shrink at high temperatures.

After washing, instead of tumbling dry, roll the swimwear in a dry towel to absorb any excess moisture. Once you unroll the towel, hang the items to dry on a rack or clothesline, but avoid direct sunlight since they might discolor.

6. Sportswear

Similar to lingerie, the majority of sportswear is constructed from high-tech synthetic fabrics that wick sweat and support muscles while exercising. After washing, let the clothes air dry in order to help them maintain their form and wicking capabilities.
