2. Pure Maple Syrup
After having a delicious plate of pancakes dripping with maple syrup, you may be tempted to put it back in the pantry without having second thoughts. Well, if you’re buying pure maple syrup, you may want to stop doing that.
This sweet syrup, especially the organic one, tends to grow moldy outside the fridge. Sounds disgusting enough? If it doesn’t, here’s another argument in favor of cold storage.
If you don’t keep your maple syrup in the fridge and the container is opaque, you may be unable to see the mold until you’ve started to pour syrup on your pancakes.
