1. Leather
Disinfectants contain a high percentage of alcohol that could easily damage your leather items (purses, shoes, wallets, or the couch covers from your car). Alcohol can erode the natural properties of leather, making it dry and dull with a worn-out look. To avoid staining your leather, clean it with a mixture made of soap and 1 quart of water.
Clean your item by dipping a towel or cloth into the cleaning solution, rinsing the sponge, and wiping it down once more to get rid of any soap residue left behind.
2. Your hands
During the past three years, everybody has been advised to clean their hands as often as possible and apply disinfectant. And if this is efficient for kitchen surfaces, door knobs, keyboards, and television remotes, it must be good for the hands as well, right? Well, not at all. You should never clean your hands with antibacterial wipes as an alternative to soap, especially if you want to do this before eating.
These wet wipes are not really efficient in removing the bacteria from your hands, plus the alcohol can cause skin inflammation.
