4. Sharp kitchen knives
We all know how hard it is to keep knives sharp, but at the same time, few people know that washing them in the dishwasher might make them blunt. Why? This occurs when the dishwasher’s movement causes the blades to brush against the racks or other dishwashing components. Furthermore, extremely sharp blades are very bad for your dishwasher because they can erode the coating on the racks, enabling water to seep in and cause corrosion.
So the next time you want to do that, take your time and wash all of your knives separately by hand in order to keep them sharp and shiny.
