1. Cinnamon
Little did I know about cinnamon, this magical ingredient that keeps mosquitoes away. Especially during my early days when I used it as a main ingredient for my recipes. Apparently, cinnamon is more than just a delicious addition to cookies or your oatmeal because it can be an effective repellent as well.
Cinnamon oil contains many potent ingredients such as cinnamyl acetate, eugenol, and anethole that have the ability to fight against the most common mosquito species. Furthermore, it can actually kill mosquito eggs too! You can use this oil in a diluted form, mixed with 1/4 teaspoon of it for every 4 ounces of water.
Then, pour the solution into a spray bottle and spray it on your skin, clothes, and around the house, as well as your plants and upholstery. This is a great way to both refresh your home and also keep these sneaky creatures away from you.
