6. Ceramic Stovetops
Most stovetops do really need a good scrub once in a while, and most of them can actually handle baking soda just fine. Ceramic stovetops, however, can be easily scratched by baking soda. Plus, the sodium bicarbonate can leave an ugly white film on the surface of your stovetop, which can be pretty hard to remove.
Instead, go for a dishwashing liquid solution or a specially designed cleaner that will remove the grease and dirt without causing any harm. If you did accidentally use baking soda on your ceramic stovetop, simply soak a soft cloth in some vinegar mix and wipe down the cooktop. This trick will help you get rid of the white film.
