6. Clothes are unusually hot to the touch
If your clothes are too hot when you take them out of the dryer, this is definitely a warning sign that you must clean the vent. And this is mostly happening because of the restricted air flow. First of all, you should clean the lint trap, and if this doesn’t solve the problem, it means the lint went in the duct. Go outside and feel for air coming from the vent while the dryer is operating to rule out this issue.
7. Your dryer has stopped working
Everything was fine, but suddenly, during the cycle, your dryer stopped working. This might happen when the appliance detects too much heat. And this is a safety mechanism built into the dryer, especially for the new models. In case this happens to you, be careful to clean the vent before deciding to buy another dryer. Sometimes it’s easier and cheaper to repair a broken appliance rather than buy a new one.
