Hot water solar systems use solar collector panels to heat water that passes through tubing lacing to the collector panels. They often serve both purposes: providing whole-house heating as well as heating water for use at faucets. These systems are often designed for businesses, but they can also be an alternative for residential use.
Hot air solar systems work by capturing the air that has been heated by the sun beating down on an exposed wall or a roof and circulating it through the house. For instance, clay roof tiles may feature incorporated air channels that allow the heated air to circulate. These systems are ideal for heating a single room.
