Add a door brace
This might be another ingenious idea: you can bolt a door brace behind your entryway door. If it’s in the locked position, the bolt will help the door sustain several hundred pounds of blunt force.
So, if there’s a thief that thinks it would be easy to kick down your braced door, they’ve got another thing coming.
Lock your doors and windows
If you leave the door unlocked or the windows open, it won’t be anything more than an open invitation to any thief. Even if you live in a small, peaceful neighborhood, lock your doors and windows anyway. It’s better to be on the safe side.
