1. Doorknobs

Doorknobs and appliance handles, two of the most used surfaces in the home, should be cleaned and disinfected on a daily basis. Using a fast-acting spray after washing the doorknob will guarantee that the surface stays moist for the required amount of time, effectively killing any remaining bacteria. Disinfecting wipes are also a good option. In fact they are frequently used because they appear convenient, but for them to be effective, surfaces must be wet for up to 10 minutes.

Make sure you clean all your doorknobs as often as possible, especially after you come home. During the cold season, try to disinfect them twice a day, and more often for the exterior.

2. Appliance handles

As we previously mentioned, appliance handles are probably the dirtiest items in your home. I’m sure there were times when you were in a hurry when you got home from shopping and wanted to put all the groceries in the pantry or the fridge and you touched all the handles with dirty hands. Make sure you disinfect them daily with a wipe or a spray, and if someone in your family is sick, disinfect them even more often.
