By the turn of the millennium, the 1980s mantra of “bigger is better” found its way into the mindset of people in the early 2000s with larger and more cavernous homes. The term “McMansion” entered the American lexicon as this design trend of large mass-produced dwellings marketed to the upper middle class.
These homes were considered over-sized, poorly designed, and expensive as they littering the American suburbs.
