6. Insulated travel mugs and bottles
In this case, the problem is that the high temperature of the water can damage the travel mugs pretty badly because most of them are double insulated to keep your coffee hot. Many of these contain vacuum seals that can be ruined by dishwasher washing. So, wash your favorite travel mug or bottle by hand after each use to preserve it in excellent condition.
7. Non-stick pans and baking sheets
Nobody is a fan of washing a big pile of dishes after a full day of cooking, and we already know that pots, pans, and baking sheets are not easy to clean. But if you want to keep your non-stick coatings for as long as possible, it might be best to wash them by hand. It is common for cleaning instructions to state that an item is dishwasher safe, but that hand washing is preferred instead because this is the manufacturer’s method of warning you that if you wash the item in the dishwasher, it won’t last as long. Regularly using abrasive detergents and bumping into other objects while in the wash cycle can cause non-stick coatings to wear down more quickly.
