2. Sweep and mop all of your home’s hard floors
Even though I love my dog, I don’t want my home to smell like a pet shop. And the process of cleaning can be a real pain in the neck, especially if your home is quite big. However, if you don’t do it at least once a week, the odor can permeate your upholstery, carpets, and other areas of your home, making it difficult to remove. After vacuuming, the next step is to mop the floors to remove the bacteria but also the smell that your pet carries from one room to another.
Just make sure you keep your pet a safe distance away (maybe in the backyard) until you’re done cleaning, because even natural cleaning items like baking soda can be harmful to animals. Despite the fact that vinegar is mostly used to neutralize odors, it can have the opposite effect on your pet! Apparently, this particular smell draws the dog back to the same spot.
