1. Vacuum everything
Everyone knows that pets can be very territorial, so it stands to reason that they love leaving their scent on everything in their owner’s house. This also means that they’ll inevitably explore every nook and cranny of the place and leave some hair behind while they’re at it. So make sure that you vacuum at least twice a week, especially during shedding season.
Start with the objects where they usually sit, like: carpets, couches, rugs, furniture, and floors.
It’s important to repeat the process as often you need to because most of the time the fur is stubborn and deeply trapped in the fabric. Believe it or not, most carpets hold an incredible amount of dust and hair. That’s why you will need to vacuum every inch of it before washing. A long time ago, I bought a tiny rug that my dog loves, and it’s so easy to clean. Once you’re done with the carpets, move on to the furniture and make sure you get to all the cracks and corners, then finish with the floors.
For a more efficient way of cleaning, I recommend purchasing a vacuum that has a washable filter so you can wash it after every use.
If your adorable furry friend really loves to snuggle on the couch, use a washable slipcover as protection. It’s going to be easier to clean with warm water, plus you won’t have to deal with hair anymore.
