5. Canned Food
If you’re running out of space in your kitchen pantry or cabinets, don’t risk storing extra canned food in your garage! According to the USDA, canned food should be kept in a cool, dry place, and most garages fail on both counts. A garage where there’s a lot of humidity could cause tin cans to rust, while a garage that’s hotter than 85 °F could cause that food to spoil.
Contrary to popular belief, canned foods can spoil, so if you’ve been storing them in your garage, you may want to find a different place for them.
