Cooking oil
There are many individuals out there that believe pouring oils down the sink has nothing to do with clumps and clogs. Unfortunately, that is not true.
As the certified master plumber Elisha French, owner of Texas Plumbing Solutions is warning us, cooking oils can solidify at room temperature, which means they’re more dangerous than you might think.
And this applies to all kinds of oils, including olive oil, that can solidify in contact with cold water, and cause buildups if you’re used to throwing it down the drain. The best way to dispose of cooking oils is to collect them in sealable containers and throw them in the trash can, or even better, give it to an oil recycling center.
